NOSTALGIA SHOOTOUT STOCKING UP

Registrations are now being taken for the Quarter Mile High Nostalgia Super Stock Shootout taking place in June at Shakespeare County Raceway’s ‘Yanks Weekend’, writes SCR’s Marketing Manager Jerry Cookson.

“With so much interest in nostalgia and replica stockers at the moment, next to the inaugural idea mooted several years ago at the Mopar EuroNationals, the Yanks Weekend is the ideal event to portray this form of nostalgia door car racing here in the UK, and thanks to support from Dave Coleman of Quartermilehigh.com fame this can all be made possible next month on June 3rd,” says Jerry.

Open to all 1960s style Stockers and Super Stockers, with or without period graphics, there will be no constraints on the choice of tyres used, engines or interiors so long as it meets with the track’s safety regulations which can be downloaded from www.apira.org.uk <http://www.apira.org.uk/> web site

So if you own a period stocker and wish to get in on the act then call Jerry at Shakespeare County Raceway on 01789 720180 or e-mail enquiries@shakespearecountyraceway.co.uk

TAKE THE CORVETTE CHALLENGE

Steve Borland, Moving Parts www.moving-parts.com proprietor and sponsor to the Outlaw Anglia Reaction Time Award has announced news of a special Corvette Challenge to be run at Shakespeare County Raceway’s Yanks Weekend next month 2nd/3rd June, writes SCR’s Marketing Manager Jerry Cookson.

The Moving Parts Corvette Challenge will be open to all street and strip Corvette’s and provided there’s enough interest in the concept the Challenge may well be split into two categories; Pro and Street with time trials each day.

"We are really looking forward to this weekend of racing”, says Steve. “It will be great to get some more Corvettes on the strip. We are hoping that it is a real success and will generate enough interest to warrant a competitive series in 2008."

For further details or to register your car, give Steve a call on 01784 481635 or drop him an e-mail at steve@moving-parts.com
