BHRA 10th River Run
A lazy Sunday afternoon in Kent the sunshine was a scorcher, but in previous years the BHRA river run has taken its place on the calendar around early July. But due to a booking on the same date – BHRA moved its event to the 11th June 2006 as we all know trying to squeeze another date into our already packed social calendar, BHRA took a gamble, bit like the lottery you never know if your number was going to come up or not.

The river run has always been a weekend event, and as usual the event has many surprise a great Saturday afternoon cruise and a curry in the evening, followed by the BHRA knees up.

Sunday morning was going to be very much like the previous day bloody hot, arriving at the Sturdee Club, Hoo, Kent - that has been the venue for their annual event for the last couple of years.
The usual die-hard crowd had arrived on Friday evening and baked themselves silly in the sunshine all day on Saturday so there were a few lobsters polishing their rods.

By the afternoon the field was filling with a variety of vehicles and bikes, DJ Lee provide the cool tunes throughout the event and BHRA was running there mini drag racing track in the main hall and the bar provide live action from the British F1grand prix was laid on for those who wanted to retreat from the blazing heat.
By the time prize giving was soon upon us, and Chris Cade walked away with the NASC pick and best of show, John Pryor was awarded with a trophy for the top five for his 59 Vauxhall F Type Victor, yes believe it or not he got it out the garage, second time this year.
Although the weekend is a laid back event, it’s a most enjoyable show with some great family friendly members who put themselves to make sure you really enjoy such a great event – so come along next year and join in the fun.
