Searching ………….. Still!

Recently we have suffered two more big setbacks regarding alternative sites for the Nats, our proposal and negotiations - for one particularly high-profile site – have come to nothing after the Ford Motor Company - who were after the same site for a corporate event - gazumped our bid by dropping a £50,000 retainer on the desk of the site manager, naturally - he accepted their terms.

We simply cannot compete with that sort of purchasing power, but sadly – because of the class of venue we are seeking, this is the sort of competition and the extent of the problems we regularly have to face.

Again, another alternative high-profile site has just proved too costly. We simply cannot afford the extortionate prices and demands they have made. Not only do they want a massive sum of money for the site for the weekend, they also want all the profits from the bar and food outlets too! They also tried to insist that we hire all other things – such as marquees, toilets and showers from specific preferred traders. Sounds like some sort of “closed shop” deal has been struck there. So, sadly we have had to think again and go off to look at and consider some other options.

At the rate we are currently viewing and considering sites and either finding them unsuitable, being rejected, being out-bid, out-priced or whatever else, we just don’t know where to turn next.

Bearing in mind that we need around one hundred acres to successfully house the event, where would you like or suggest the Nats be held?
